Palmer's Conrail Glory Days #13 - Eastbound CR Intermodal

CR 6098 (C40-8W) leads at eastbound TV train with mixed vans and containers across the New England Central diamond at Palmer as I continue with the photos from a very good day photographically for April of 1996. Behind the relatively new GE are a 6-axle wide cab EMD unit and a 4-axle GE. CR 6098 went to NS in 1999 as part of a block of 138 units. It appears to have retained patched CR blue paint for the balance of its career as NS 8341. I do not know when this unit was retired, but the entire 138-unit block was retired by 2020, so it is no longer around.
