Amtrak's Desert Wind at Lugo, CA

AMTK 829 (P40DC) leads the erstwhile Desert Wind down the east slope of Cajon Pass as it approaches the Lugo station sign. Lugo was the first 'station' east to Summit, at the top of the pass. I don't know if there was ever an agent here, but as early as 1946 there was none.
The Desert Wind was a Los Angeles-Las Vegas-Salt Lake City connection to the California Zephyr until it last ran on May 10, 1997.
The road in the foreground is Summit Valley Road, which provided my access to this rather desolate location.
