Very true about there being a lot to look at in this photo! I wonder what the oddball caboose is at the head of that string next to the bi-level auto racks? Given the date of the photo is well after the ex-NH Poughkeepsie Bridge was taken out of service due to the fire, the Maybrook gateway EL used to interchange New England traffic was not available. So I'm guessing the white looking caboose is actually a jade green PC cab used on the EL-PC freights that ran through on the Utica branch to handle the former Maybrook gateway traffic. Handsome looking D&H Alcos! Great capture!

There was so much going on at that time with run through trains, it seems just about anything could show up anywhere at any time. In Henry's collection there is N&W units in Mechanicville along with PC units, Up caboose in Sayre, PL&E caboose in Selkirk, it boggles the mind ! Before you know it the reassigned LV and RDG units will be everywhere.
