Parked Tamper on the Medford Branch

This tamper has been parked here for a while, a few weeks at least. On the West side of Highland Ave/Middlesex Ave on the Malden Medford line. It looks like it's in great shape, and it's pretty far along what's left of the branch. If they were just going to park it, there's plenty of space closer to the mainline.

Yes, but if it needs to be serviced, like refueled, it would have to be closer to the road I would think. The other thought is it is certainly more susceptible to vandalism here.
