NJT Transit Boonton Line Train at Montclair, NJ

MNCR 4906 (GP40PH-3C), built as GP40 EMDX 25, leads NJ Transit train 1001 away from the Bay St. station in Montclair on its run from Hoboken to Dover. The train is curving off the 2002-built connector line joining the former DL&W Montclair Branch to the former ERIE Greenwood Lake branch, along which the nearly unused track to the left lies. Even though it never operates in or terribly close to Metro North territory in New York State, Train 1001 is composed entirely of Metro North equipkent this day, except for an east-facing NJ Transit control coach on the rear of the train that will lead the return to Hoboken via the Morristown line (former DL&W Morris and Essex line).
