A few minutes in Field BC in the summer of 1970 - 1

I'm waiting on the arrival of Canadian Pacific's flagship passenger train, the Canadian, to arrive at the division point of Field BC in the heart of the Canadian Rockies so I had an opportunity to get some photos. Field was an engine servicing terminal with roundhouse that hosted the various locomotives used to help heavy eastbound freights over the Continental Divide. CPR 5506 is a four year old SD40 that obviously a workhorse. Fifty years later CP honored this classic livery with the release of a 10 unit heritage fleet of tuscan red, gray, and gold SD70ACUs.

Great coverage of the CP in Field. Those Canadian Rockies are very impressive. Did you go thru Macdonald Tunnel?
