P&L 105 & 1590 at Lincoln.Introducing the "Twins", P&L105 and 1590. Not quite identical twins, as 105 is an SW1000 and 1590, a SW1001, but became twins by spending the winter inside the Lincoln Shops with each receiving a matching repaint in the Hobo & Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad's colors.
P&L 105 arrived just after Labor Day 2020, coming from the New Orleans Public Belt Railway, where it's been all along since purchased new. It was painted bright red, and dark blue (almost Pan Am blue) below deck.
P&L1590 arrived in the fall of 2015, initially leased from the CIT Group. It wore CIT's light blue paint with very overachieving hazard stripes on the cab, and front radiator louvers. 1590's heritage is Norfolk Southern, Conrail, and was purchased new by the Reading. Those famous hazard stripes were seen in earnest last Halloween with the MBRE's Historic Railfan chartered excursion from Meredith Station to Lochmere (Tilton) and back.
I am sure you will see both of these locomotives working throughout various portions of the year for the upcoming season for the Hobo and Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroads.
The new paint smell is still there, don't they look nice ? :)
