CNW 1385 Passing Waunakee, WI Depot

CNW 1385 (R-1 4-6-0) leads one of C&NW's 400 series Presidential F7A's on an eastbound passenger extra as it passes the North Western's former Waunakee, WI depot during July of 1984. I do not recall the occasion, but have photos of the train heading in both directions. CNW 402, another of the 4 Presidential F7's was facing west on the rear of this move. It may have been a circus train from the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, but I don't see anything like circus equipment in any of my photos this day. I guess it will just have to be recorded as a Passenger Extra 1385 East as it heads for Madison (and beyond?) CNW 1385 was the property of the Mid-Continent Railway Musuem, farther west along this line in North Freedom, WI. It was used for public relations purposes by the C & NW or more than a dozen years from 1982 through the Union Pacific takeover of the C & NW.
During the 1st summer I worked for the C&NW in 1968, this Waunakee Depot was where I learned to handle the business of a local freight agent, before providing vacation relief for several of them in the Madison area that summer and for several following.
