The Big Railroad

In the 60s I grew up in Belmont within sight of the Fitchburg Division. Plenty of trains but pretty much it was mostly Budd cars and Bluebirds. But a couple of bus rides away was the "mighty" New York Central Beacon Park Yard where you could see some more variety. They still had "real" passenger trains and mail trains. Here in 1963 or so I captured a couple of E units.at the engine servicing facility.with an old bellows type 120 roll film camera. Later we would ride the draft of cars for the New England States into South Station..
