One of my favorite stations, this gem was built in 1881 by the Old Colony Railroad. Commissioned by Frederic Ames, Railroad director and heir to Ames shovel, it was designed by HH Richardson whose work is seen throughout Easton.

The tracks in front don't go anywhere now but there is a good chance that Phase 2 of South Coast Rail will again bring trains past this station. What a gem of a building!
