Early Days of Conrail - Rochester NY

In spring 1976, a westbound manifest with mostly PC 4 axle power plus an EL interloper works its way west leaving E Rochester NY, site of the former site of NYC's Despatch car shops that built a lot of Merchants Despatch Transportation (MDT) reefers. Coincidentally the PFE car head out is an old iced reefer.

Photographed by John Barlow, 1976.
Added to the photo archive by John Barlow, January 22, 2021.
Railroad: Conrail.
