CNW 8013 (SD60), CNW 8551 (C40-8) and
ATSF 8056 (C30-7) are slowing this eastbound coat train for a stop at California Jct, IA, a few miles short of the larger yard at Missouri Valley, IA where this 'branch line' from Fremont, NE joins the mainline from Omaha & Council Bluffs for the run to Chicago. California Jct was also the junction with a line north to Souix Falls and a jct with the for Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis, & Omaha line northeast to the Twin Cities. By 1993 the 'branch' to Frement, NE was the primary route for run through Union Pacific trains using the C&NW to Chicago.
