A lot can happen in 10 years time...

On a foggy September morning in 2011, a Bow NH bound coal train is tied down on the east side of Owego NY on NS Southern Tier on the controlled siding at the CP-233 interlocking. A year earlier, this track would still have been double track ABS (although very under utilized). The Erie RR era code line poles have been cut down in a beautification effort. None of the locomotives have roof top PTC radio antennas and the NS8700, a C40-8 standard cab, would be retired in 2017. And the train loads of SW Pa bituminous (using a Helm Financial Corp hopper still painted in Frisco livery) bound for the Merrimack power station would stop operating on NS in the summer of 2016.
