Ocean Highway Ferry Terminal, Norfolk, VA

In 1956, the year I was born, my parents took a car trip to South Carolina to visit relatives. On the way north they used the RT 13 Ocean Highway which was the eastern shore route before the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel was built. At the northbound ferry terminal in Norfolk ,VA the Pennsylvania RR also had a car float terminal, the freight cars which can be seen at the left. Scanned from 35mm slides from my parents collection.

Photographed by Leo LaCasse, August, 1956.
Added to the photo archive by Mike LaCasse, December 8, 2020.
Railroad: Pennsylvania.
