EL eb manifest crosses Owego Creek

In November 1970, three-month old Erie Lackawanna SDP45 charges across the Owego Creek bridge with an eastbound manifest in tow. In this era, the EL ran about 30 daily symbol freights on through the Southern Tier of NY (v. the 4 NS road freights that run here today - of course the NS trains are 2 or more miles long...).

Photographed by John Barlow, November, 1970.
Added to the photo archive by John Barlow, October 30, 2020.
Railroad: Erie Lackawanna.
