At the North end of Chessie's B&O System

A quartet of Chessie System GP40s rest at the Lincoln Park engine facility on West Ave in Rochester NY in the Fall of 1978. The B&O system's northernmost point was 8 miles further north on Lake Ontario at Charlotte where there had been a coal dock near the mouth of the Genesee River. Speaking of coal, these GP40s may have brought a unit coal train to Kodak Park for the once giant film maker.

Photographed by John Barlow, 1978.

Railroad: Chessie.
