This afternoon the Narragansett & Newport Railroad's tandem Budd Cars returned to downtown Newport on an exploratory trip. Seven years after these cars were brought onto Aquidneck Island, they have been extensively upgraded and are now in excellent running condition.
The current operator's plan is to start running these cars from the downtown Newport depot to the Melville railroad yard.
