Out of the Hoosac darkness...

B&M GP-38-2 No. 206 headed east out of the famed 4.75 mile tunnel at the east portal, just east of North Adams, MA....much folklore surrounds the Hoosac construction. One of my favorite books, "A Pinprick of Light", is an excellent source of the entire story...I was fortunate enough, when I worked for the Springfield Terminal, to engage in a cab ride through this amazing bore.
