One of the G.O.A.T.'s

The GG-1's were tireless for years before being retired, succeeded by the Amtrak AEM-7's. This one led my train south out of New Haven, CT, when one had time to detrain and enjoy the switching movements, pre-electrification to Boston. I recall flooding in the late 1970's, in which the GG-1's were brought out of storage to rescue flooded Metroliners!!
