PC 4249 (E8A), another ex-PRR E8A, and a PC roadswitcher lead a very long Amtrak train through North Kingstown, RI on the day after Christmas, 1972. The train is obviously moving right along despite the fact that 1 of the units is clearly not feeling well. This not clearly not a typical corridor train, given its length. Might have been a Florida train that terminated in Boston. I know Amtrak did that sometimes during the early years. Again I'm not sure of direction or exact location in North Kingstown, nor whether the road switcher was normal on this train or perhaps added in case the ailing unit quit completely. Is it possible to work the throttle and brakes with all fingers crossed?
