NYC 5317 (RS3 is seen here swtiching on the south side of the New York Central mainline in Lyons, NY. The line south thru Geneva and Corning, NY to Jersey Shore, PA near coal country headed south from here. It looks like the 5317 was caught in the middle on the 1966 renumbering; whoever was responsible for the number on the long hood did a very poor job on disguising the old '8' from many years when this was the 8317. Year is a guess, the middle of a possible range between 1966 and 1968.
