A Closer View of C&O 614 At Campbell Hall With Parts Removed

This photo shows C&O 614 still venting steam and some heat from its stack while sitting while sitting on the east wye at Campbell Hall with its left side driving rod disconnected from the left cylinder. NJ Transit ran a pair of protect diesels ahead of the 614's train. The dispatcher had them return to Campbell Hall and handle the excursion west to Port Jervis and back to Hoboken. It was that call from the dispatcher to the proitect power that I heard at the west end of Otisville tunnel that led me to return to Campbell Hall and spend an afternoon watching the crew doctor their ailing steed.
