Outbound.

An evening commute at Hersey Station in Needham, MA. The previous name for this location was Birds Hill. In the 1930s, when New Haven eliminated the second track, a station platform was built on the former inbound alignment. Today, the track again occupies the inbound alignment, through the station, so that the platform could be built next to the large parking lot.

Photographed by Ken Patton, May, 1995.
Added to the photo archive by Ken Patton, January 2, 2020.
Railroad: MBTA.
