Saratoga & North Creek BL2 leads the Hudson Explorer - 2

The BL2 was an interesting if homely first attempt by EMD to build a hood unit road switcher back in the late '40s. Only 59 BL2 locomotives were built but the BL2 begat the hugely successful (and much more attractive) GP series. Back in the spring of 2014, ex-BAR BL2 wearing a D&H-like livery led the Saratoga Flyer northward through Thurman NY on the now defunct S&NC, the former D&H branch to North Creek and Tahawus in the Adirondacks.
