Buzzards Bay

A Cape Cod & Hyannis passenger train heads west over the famous vertical lift railroad bridge over the Cape Cod Canal at Bourne, MA while the Corps of Engineers tug, Manamet, looks on. It is near low slack. When the tide was coming in and the currents are around their maximum, before the span was lowered, the Engineers would send out patrol craft. to make sure nothing would get hung up under the bridge. Marine traffic was coordinated by the Corps to avoid any conflicts with bridge operation.

Great shot! Nothing could be better then catching a Tug Boat and a train, together, I'm sooo jealous. Good going!
