It was quite exciting to see colorful foreign six-axle power on the four-axle B&M.. Erie-Lackawanna SD-45 #3618 and a matching SD-45 are here at the Boston Roundhouse for a rest after handling a run on the Fitchburg-Division. Three real railroaders are coming toward us but won't bother us. It was much easier to be a railfan then.

Wow how time has changed everything!!! Even the windows in the Budd are not opaque!!!!!

I'm under the impression that pooled EL SD45 power was the first C-C power to be used in regular service on B&M's relatively light rail (112lbs?). Great capture! BTW, I grew up alongside EL's Southern Tier in the late '60s and remember seeing B&M Bluebirds once or twice on the PB-99/PB-100 pig trains.
