A Cold Day, Even For A Railfan

Before we had personal transportation, my friend Dave and I would get around using the MBTA to visit railroad sites around Boston including Readville, MA. Here is my friend, Dave, posing on the footboard of New Haven RS-11 #1409 on a very cold day looking every bit like a railroader. In a few years he would actually become one.Hard to believe it has been over 50 years
