VRE V64 Leading Train 305 Past Long Bridge Park

VRE V64 (MP36PH-3C) leads Virginia Railway Express Train 305 past Long Bridge Park in Arlington, VA early in its run down the old RF&P to Fredericksburg, VA. This view gives an overall view looking north from the park, including the Washington Monument, which is not well situated for railroad photos. The walkway follows the tracks for its entire present length (it is being extended in the distance), but the trees in the middle make it most useful for photos at the 2 ends. Because of the curve in the tracks, the Washingtom Monument becomes increasingly hard to include in photos as one moves north along the walkway, and the south end also seems better for watching planes at Reagan National Airport a very short distance to the right of this photo, perhaps a 60 degree swing to the right to see the end of the main runway.
