Work-Extra at FX

The Work-Extra shoves the buggy and an ex-Amtrak boxcar West on the 4th Iron at FX Interlocking in Somerville, MA. During the winter months, the boxcar is used to transport salt to stations throughout the Northside. One of five leased GMTX units, GP38-2 #2635 was built in January 1971 for the Penn Central which eventually became Conrail, then sold to LLPX and finally to GMTX.
