Brand New (In The 1890s)

This is a builders' photo of the the interior of a Quebec Central coach that has just rolled out of the Laconia Car Works from an album of such photos that I once owned. Beside the elegant and exquisitely detailed furnishings and the beautiful true clerestory roof for adding daylight and ventilation are the Pintsch gas lighting fixtures that were supplied from a reservoir in the car and were standard before electric lighting was applied to passenger cars.

Photographed by Unknown photographer from print collection of R DeFilippo.
Added to the photo archive by Ron DeFilippo, December 5, 2019.
Railroad: Quebec Central.
