Imagine if the state of New Hampshire was as progressive in the 1980’s like, say, Massachusetts or New York or Connecticut? Fast forward to 2019, and you would have had a fully funded commuter network from Nashua to Lebanon and from Concord to Lincoln and from Dover to North Conway. Instead, the talk was of god, guns, and small government. I had a chance to run it for a short stretch....a "bucket list" check-off, as it was the last RDC I rode in revenue service back in1980 when it was Amtrak 14, Springfield-Berlin, CT.
