AMTK Train 149 Passing Train 162 While Arriving at Kingston Station

AMTK 654 (ACS-64) pokes its nose past the rear end of train 162 as the 654 leads train 149 to its Sunday-only stop at Kingston Station. Train 162 is preparing to depart for Kingston Interlocking where it will sit with doors closed until Acela train 2255 to clear the single track before train 162 can cross over to track 1 and head east. Not sure how the decisions are made as to whether the train waits in Kingston Station with the doors open, as 160 did or waits at Kingston Interlocking with the doors closed, as 162 did. Both trains had similarly long delays waiting for westbound Acelas.
