Saratoga & North Creek BL2 leads the Hudson Explorer

The now defunct Saratoga & North Creek ran interesting excursion trains on the ex-D&H Adirondack branch (Saratoga Springs to Tahawus). S&NC pursued freight business but couldn't make a go of it so it resorted to storing cleaned out empty crude oil tank cars for supplemental revenue. But alarmed environmentalists and NYS said no can do in the pristine Adirondacks. In happier times in May 2014, resplendent ex-BAR BL2 #52 leads the Hudson Explorer at the Thurman station stop.
