Long Overdue

It's not ideal but still a greatly welcome upgrade. NEPRA/Pan Am Railways/NH DOT Joint project to upgrade the #2 track between Rockingham Jct and Exeter New Hampshire. A change for the better!
<BR>For those keeping tabs, the new steel work will replace rail installed during the B&Ms 1936-1937 rebuilding of the Portland Division.

I thought this rail was replaced in the 1983 era with welded rail??? I also thought it was again upgraded again in the late 1990's for Downeaster service ???Please advise.
