EL wb freight at Owego April 1979

With likely empty ice-cooled AT&SF reefers head out, a pair of GP35s lead a C425 and U25B west at milepost 236 at the LV Auburn branch connection toward the Owego Creek bridge. Santa Fe used its reefers as rolling billboards for its passenger service as there were cars advertising the Chief, the Super Chief, the Scout, or simply "Ship and Travel Santa Fe - All the Way".

Photographed by John Barlow, April, 1970.
