Visitor Comments about this Photo:This RDC-4 was one of several originally built for the Minneapolis & St. Louis RR, and was modified to carry passengers. The three windows behind the baggage door are a coach seating area for 14 people. The M&StL ran these cars with an accompanying baggage-express. After the C&O purchased the cars, they were used on the Big Sandy Subdivision from Ashland to Elkhorn City, Ky., usually with two cars splicing a baggage car. The last known owner was Krautkamer Ultrasonics, which had intended to convert them into detector cars, similar to the old "doodlebug" gas-electrics converted by Sperry Rail Services.
