D&H Apollo launches eastward from Bison Yard BuffaloIt's a few weeks after C-Day and the upstate NY RR world is turned upside down as PC locomotives are leading trains on the former EL, LV U23Bs are hauling trains on the ex-NYC, etc. D&H gets into the act with its westward extension to friendly N&W connection at Buffalo. D&H will now be handling the former LV-N&W Apollo pig trains as shown here with 4 (of 8) RS3Ms, recently rebuilt by Morris Knudsen, departing east on the ex-EL toward Binghamton and ultimately New Jersey. On the tail end of this 15 or so car train would be an ex-LV caboose that D&H acquired as part of its system growth.
