LV Auburn Branch local departs Owego for Sayre Yard

In the spring of 1969, LV SW8 leads a short local compass south at the dilapidated LV depot, about to take a sweeping turn to the west to follow EL's mainline toward Waverly/Sayre. Ironically, 50 years after this photo was taken, the LV depot is not only still in use by today's operator of the line, the Owego & Harford Railway, but the structure is in much better, restored condition than LV left it.

Photographed by John Barlow, 1969.
Added to the photo archive by John Barlow, March 7, 2019.
