EL wb Freight at Owego, NY winter 1970EL SDP45 leads an eclectic collection of locomotives west, including a gaggle of Alco S-2 switchers and a D&H C628. As this would have been in the midst of short-lived N&W ownership of EL and D&H via the arms-length Dereco subsidiary, seeing D&H power on EL freights, and vice versa, was common. I've been told the Alco switchers were not heading for the boneyard but were being re-deployed to EL's west end as EMD switchers were sent east.
