In 1967 F Nelson Blount, locomotive collector and founder of the original Steamtown operated some steam trips over the New Haven using a former CPR 4-6-2 renumbered 127. This particular trip made a circuit from Boston, down the Midland division to the old Norwich and Worcester and back by the Shore Line to Providence where the 127 was cut off and diesels completed the trip back to Boston. Here is Blount, the man who owned and ran the engine on top of the tender during a coal and water stop in Connecticut. Only three months later he died in the crash of his private plane.
