C&NW Local Freight Approaching Sleepy Eye, MN

CNW 1619 (RSD-4) leads an eastbound local freight toward Sleepy Eye, MN after supper on June 27, 1977. At the time Sleepy Eye, on the mainline to Huron and Rapid City, SD, was the junction with a short C&NW branch to Redwood Falls, MN. The 1619 arrived with 3 cars and caboose off the branch, did a little work, then backed out west of town to retrieve this train and take it east toward Mankato. At least that is what my memory, aided by my photos, tells me happened that long ago evening.
