The SD-24's were among my favorites of the early ST/Guilford transition. I remember seeing an eastbound as these units first came in all still in Santa Fe paint with lined out numbers. I understand the extra air reservoirs on the top of the hood were for extra braking capacity for Raton Pass in their home territory.
