Lizzy the SPV

In 1980 the Connecticut DOT took delivery on 13 Budd SPV-2000 railcars. Twelve carried Amtrak markings and were assigned to New Haven-Springfield service. The thirteenth, numbered 50 and named "Lizzy" after a CDOT official (note the nametag on the end door), was intended for branchline service on Metro North. Here in her first days of service, Lizzy pauses at Bethel station on a South Norwalk-Danbury shuttle run.
