Between 1984 and 1988, the Cape Cod & Hyannis Railroad operated seasonal passenger service between Hyannis and a platform adjacent to the MBTA's Braintree Red Line station. The first train from Hyannis arrived at Braintree on the morning of June 30, 1984, behind hastily repainted former New Haven GP9 1210, which still bore its old Conrail number on the numberboards.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, June 30, 1984.
