Valley RR in Old Saybrook

For a couple years in the early 1980s, the Valley Railroad operated an Essex-Old Saybrook shuttle service that provided an arranged connection with Amtrak corridor trains. This train usually ran with the VRR's GE 44-Tonner diesel, but for the first day of service on August 1, 1980, 2-8-0 97 did the honors. Here the VRR train waits on the wye as the Amtrak conection departs.
