Toward the end of their careers, some of SP's Alco C-628s were assigned to transfer and yard service. This pair is getting ready to depart West Colton yard. After a short eastward run the cars will be set out into one or more tracks at Old Colton yard. There, they will picked up in interchange by UP or Santa Fe.
