the Goodwin's Alco

From 1977 to 1980 the Goodwin Railroad was the designated operator of the former Boston & Maine branch between Concord and Lincoln, NH. RS3 #1 was the Goodwin's sole road locomotive, an ex-MEC unit inherited from the line's previous operator, the Wolfboro RR. It posed at Ayer, Mass., on the B&M while headed home after shop work at East Deerfield. This locomotive is now owned by the Railroad Museum of New England.
