The Boston & Albany Railroad was formally merged into the New York Central in 1961, but its name endured on assorted signs and stations for many years longer. This departure sign marked a Framingham local at South Station in 1965. No, it didn't carry a diner and parlor cars... the car assignments list on the left referred to the New Haven's Merchants Limited, departing for New York from the adjacent track at 5 PM.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, July 2, 1965.
