Alcos at SpringfieldAs the sun drops low, an all-Alco lashup of two ex-NH RS11s bracketing a pair of re-engined RS3s throbs through Springfield station with a westbound freight. In its early years Conrail would create lashups like this from yard and local freight power that was not otherwise occupied on weekends.
