WW&F #9 Running Around Train at Top of the Mountain

WW&F #9 backs on to the main line from the run around track at Top of the Mountain, presently the north end of museum operations. This photo shows clearly why the museum ride can be a bit rough, and why the cab ride on the SR&RL on the old Sunday River video of the Maine 2-footers involves a lot of bouncing around. Neither the original operators nor today's museums had/have the resources to create a perfectly smooth roadbed.
